Having ACNE and PCOS is EXHAUSTING!
Having ACNE and PCOS is EXHAUSTING at times and it has impacted every area of my life. Even areas that don't directly relate. Have acne, cystic pimples, hyperpigmentation and scarring has stopped me from doing so many things in life and it has impacted my relationships. Having PCOS and all of the symptoms that come with it has been really challenging, mentally and emotionally. I needed to sit down, vent, and document how I was feeling in the moment. It was something that finally clicked in my head - how my life is ruled by these conditions. I am grateful for my life, I really am. I'm even grateful for these challenges BUT sometimes, it gets hard to manage and it's too much. With that being said, I am creating non-negotiables for myself so that I can make real progress in these areas. Consistency is KEY, we hear that all the time. I need to put my health first and I hope you do too.
Oh and, Happy PCOS Awareness Month!

    As a professional beauty therapist and 20 years of experience treating hair with laser and electrolysis. If you don't understand the cycle of hair growth and the different types of hair and ethnicities.do not touch your face with this. Dermaplane was never a thing years ago. Infact your peach fuzz is supposed to be on your skin for a reason to protect it. Not for you to make it more vulnerable. So typically a darker hair type like my self , and being Indian punjabi, I can guarantee you one thing after dermaplaning your face. You will end up with dark stubbly hair eventually and you will end up having to spend more money to reduce it back to finer hair. If you want a smooth face , go back to traditional facials and treat your skin. Removing your protective fuzz from your face does not improve your skin long term. Anyone that didn't go to beauty school the correct amount of years , and anyone who doesn't have at least 20 years of experience working on all different skin types and hair on a daily basis.... reconsider what your offering to clients and do your research.

      Thanks for your feedback! What do you recommend for people that have PCOS and grow hair that is noticeable on the face? At this point, my "peach fuzz" is more like thin strands of hair that is extremely noticeable.

    Dr. Sternberg knows what he is doing. In one year my daughter who was 22 had the cyst erupt twice with 2 doctors giving her no relief. They would drain and pack it. We heard about Dr. Sternberg did our research, sent pictures, flew out for surgery and it has been 5 years of no problems or reoccurrence. Her quality of life was restored thanks to Dr. Sternberg and his professional staff. Well worth it.

    What can I say? Feeling how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I used what discussed the other day, well, it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish. I just go’ogled Tilly Strankten's Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.

    hey dear. I had acne for over 15 years but it calmed down since I take hormones for thyroid. I got diagnosed with Hashimito. This is sth that many have. You can check it up. It is often not enough to check TSH. you should have the complede blood test with all the thyroid hormones and antibodies. Since then my acne has calmed down. Maybe you also have hypothyroid. I wish you luck and power from my heart.

There's been many many times when I've skipped going somewhere because of my skin.I remember HATING summer time because its so bright out& you can see my skin clearly & putting makeup on it just made it look worst at times. I would be soooo jealous of seeing girls in summer time with little to no makeup& just being outdoors having a great time like at the beach.. I really really wish you luck on your clearer skin journey!! Keep us updated!!

    Hey girl, I know you probably don't want to hear this because I understand your goal of getting clear skin naturally and healthy and I admire that so much and it is possible from your past videos. I've felt the exact same way you express in this video. Not enjoying life to the fullest. I tried eating extra healthy and exercising and getting the right amount of sleep ( I still do all of these things) but the only thing that really took my acne away was spironolactone. I know you had gone on it a few years ago and if I remember correctly you saw good results. As of now, even if you just went back on it to get your skin back on track and your mental health on track too. But of course you know what's best for you. I've been on it for almost 5 years and it's the best decision I ever made. My skin did a complete turn around and so did my life. I wish you the best Amy!

    • @AmyAliWellness
      @AmyAliWellness 2 роки тому

      I so appreciate you for leaving this comment. Believe it or not, I go back and forth about getting back on Spironolactone. I definitely saw good results on it. I’m so glad that it has been working for you for the last 5 years! A part of me wishes I wouldn’t have stopped taking it because I know my skin would not be where it’s at and I feel like it’s going to take a while to repair the damage, scars, etc. Spiro is still an option for sure but I want to truly give it my all before I go back to it. But I don’t know how much more of my life I can put on hold for my skin, you know? Thank you for your comment! What dosage are you on right now?

      I have been on spirnolactone for 6 and a half weeks and I am doing fantastic on it. I am almost completely clear already.

      @@AmyAliWellnessOf course! I've been watching your journey and I'm always rooting for you. I was really opposed to taking any pill to treat my acne but I just realized my life was passing me by so I just gave in but I'm actually really happy I did decide to take it. I've also been dealing with scarring over the last few years too, I've done micro needling with PRP (7 treatments) and 4 picosure focus laser treatments and have seen great results. I was taking 50mg for the first two years but I bumped it up to 100mg and that really cleared my skin. I believe you are allowed to take up to 200mg for acne so you just have to find the right dose for you if you decide to go back on it 😊

      @@AmyAliWellness 100 mg a day. I am also on tretonoin.5 percent but have been on that for over 8 years. My hormonal acne was acting up the last 3 years or so despite being on tretonoin. I tried everything. Have given up dairy, added supplements, and I am a personal trainer so I am in shape. This is a life saver for me .

      Thank you for watching and commenting. This is a really lonely journey so hearing that other people understand and can relate helps. Good luck on your journey! We’re in this together.
